Marketing / Admin Intern - San Francisco

Hours and Duration:
8 hours weekly for Spring 2010 semester.

This is not a production internship but the student will be exposed to our process of self-distribution and promotion and potentially learn how to plan a self distribution strategy that involves publicity, new media and online sales.

This position is unpaid but there is a possibility of a stipend to be paid at the end of the semester.

PatchWorks Films is a San Francisco based production and distribution company. We specialize in films that explore contemporary social issues through intimate character stories, and innovative partnerships with the constituencies working with the issues our films explore. Our award-winning documentaries have been broadcast worldwide and have screened at museums, film festivals, schools, universities, and libraries. Speaking in Tongues is PatchWorks’ third feature documentary.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Database management
• Data entry
• Internet research
• Generic office duties such as mailing, shipping, answering the phone, filing, and records keeping
• Other duties as might be required by filmmaker related to film promotion and distribution

General Skills and Abilities:
• Mac proficient
• FileMaker Pro proficient highly preferred
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Detail and deadline oriented
• Good organizational skills
• Interest in social issues preferred
