Nonprofit Arts Education Program seeking interns-San Francisco

Filed under: Media Internships Program News, Northern California Internships — Sean Mitchell @ 7:00 am

We are a non-profit literacy arts program that uses storytelling, digital media, autobiographical writing and interactive theater activities to help students develop their reading, writing and oral communication skills.

Our interns work in San Francisco public middle schools helping students create their own autobiographical stories. Interns help students tell autobiographical stories by facilitating small groups and working one-on-one with students. There are a variety of different programs using different mediums to tell these stories, including writing, theater arts, blogging, and digital movie making.

We also have a need for administrative and management interns in a variety of capacities.  Learn skill sets ranging from classroom arts facilitation to copyediting.

Our in school and community programs serve over 2,000 youth in six Bay Area counties a year; 65% are low-income; 30% English Language Learners; 95% youth of color; and more than 60% are scoring below basic level on literacy tests.

These are non-paid internship. We are willing to fulfill requirements in order for you to receive course credit.
